How Hydrogen Cars Help Save Costs
Of late, hydrogen has emerged an alternative fuel in running the car and is becoming increasingly popular because the source of this fuel is water, which is freely available everywhere. Since, water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen, the hydrogen from water is separated through the method of electrolysis, thus acting as a fuel to the car.
In fact, hydrogen does not wholly replace the fuel. A device called hydroxy or hydrogen cell which contains two parts of hydrogen and one part of oxygen feeds into the engine chambers, with the mixture of fuel and air which enhances the burning process. This drastically reduces the utility of fuel by more than thirty percent. These hydrogen cells can also be built by a person at home, since it is not a difficult task.
Clearly, the greatest advantage of a hydrogen car is the increase in miles per gallon which ranges anywhere from fifty to hundred percent. This is also less expensive than a hybrid car which also contributes to fuel efficiency. The HHO generator is the device that separates hydrogen molecules from oxygen and that hydrogen is used to fuel the car.
Since, water is available in abundance there is no reason that there would be scarcity of water or hydrogen to be used as a fuel. Since hydrogen is a light element, the weight of the fuel is also much reduced and it has no smell.
The advantages of hydrogen fuel are endless. The byproduct of hydrogen fuel is only water. Since the hydrogen is extracted and consumed as the car is driven, it is quite safe (keeping in view that hydrogen is a highly combustible gas). With a constant search for alternative sources of energy due to the soaring prices of oil, hydrogen has come as a solution for reasons more than one.
Hydrogen is also a non depleting resource and burns more cleanly than petrol. Scientists are constantly researching to overcome the drawbacks to make the use of hydrogen cars on a large scale. Hydrogen is less expensive than gas or diesel and thus hydrogen cars are designed to offer better mileage than other types of cars. The US government provides tax rebates for hybrid and hydrogen cars which emphasizes the advantages of hydrogen cars.
But some people argue that hydrogen cars are quite expensive and there are not many gas stations for refueling. But these hurdles can be overcome in course of time because the burning problem is the rise in the price of fuel and it is imperative to find and support alternative fuel resources and vehicles that run on them. In this context, hydrogen cars should be welcomed and encouraged to help not only in the economy of an individual but also of the country as a whole.

Why do US major auto makers not implement hydrogen fuel cell cars across the country along with fuel stations?
Regular Americans cant afford Hydrogen fuel cell cars on their own and the only place that has it CA, they have every thing there. Well what about the rest of us. Regular Gas Mileage doesn’t do crap its still polluting the earth and killing off the best natural resource known to man EVER hydrogen would solve so much pollution problems. Hydrogen has been proven save, yes it will cost billions of dollars but even in this so called recession the huge companies have billions if not trillions stocked away i mean really how many numbers do they need in their bank statements to feel like "rel men" WTF im happy with 20 bucks and something to eat. It is the only way its going to happen is if the govt and major car makers put up hydrogen fuel stations and sell them nation wide and hopefully world wide. Imagine the billions of metric tons of CO2 per year no longer in our air, the world is at an all time low of O2 content ever in recorded history. Just something to think about, and if any automakers happen to read this just imagine how insanely rich you would be if you are the first company to go nation wide with this hydrogen plan. Sounds like a winner to me
Their making too much money through oil and it will cost them a lot to implement a way of taking hydrogen out of seawater even though it doesn’t cost more than digging for oil.
They don’t care about the environment only to fill their wallets with money.
It’s a shame really.

Hydrogen cars are simple, easy and cheap to make. The big problem is, all those people in the satellite industries that are going to be without work. A Hydrogen pump you can install in your back yard. And the moment these cars hit the market the trains, plains, boats, power stations, hydro-, wind-, wave-, power, etc all are going to convert, and the cost in jobs? And the scrap metal!!!. It has very vast and massive consequences.
Peace

because it would cost billions of dollars to install hydrogen fueling stations across the country? We don’t have the infrastructure to support it yet.

Why aren’t YOU selling them? Oh, yeah, probably because no one’s shopping for them. Beyond that is outside of the makers’ area so someone ELSE can look into WHY no one’s looking to buy them.
Auto makers are not putting-up hydrogen fuel stations for exactly the same reason they aren’t putting-up gas stations. They’re CAR makers, not fuel distributors.
Do you not see you’ve answered your own question? Americans can’t afford Hydrogen fuel cell cars. "On their own" is the only way they afford anything. You didn’t think here were magic money fairies to help, did you? Government money? No such thing. That’s just money they took OUT of YOUR wallet.
California is bankrupt and it IS because "they have every thing there." I guess you think the rest of us should follow their lead.
Before you go on a campaign to promote this idea, get yourself some sort of idea HOW "hydrogen would solve so much pollution problems." At this point you have no idea. (notice that isn’t a question. I’m just pointing out that you have no clue about it.)
"Huge companies" are nothing more than a fake name given to lots of INDIVIDUALS who collectively own an enterprise. You are completely deluded if you think anyone has "billions if not trillions stocked away" to produce products no one seems interested in buying.
So, according to YOU - and yes, you said this - the only way this is going to happen is if guys with badges and guns take our money and FORCE us to do it. How many GOOD ideas "have to" happen that way?
Suppose you got your way. Imagine the billions of metric tons of water vapor per year added to our air. Water vapor is a FAR far more powerful greenhouse gas than CO2, you know? No, I suppose you DIDN’T know that, did you?
Oh. Where do we GET the hydrogen? There’s plenty of it but it’s already "burned" and that has to be undone before you can use it for fuel. THAT takes VAST amounts of power - most of which we get by burning coal. So, in the end your "magical hydrogen car" is essentially coal-fired AND increases the greenhouse effect more than anything humans have so-far imagined.
Great idea. A winner indeed.

It wouldnt cost billions for it to go nationwide, it would cost trillions. The cost to make it mainstream would amount to somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 trillion dollars which is why it hasn’t been implemented. Each hydrogen fuel cell has to be built out of extremely costly material that is dense enough to hold the smallest molecule known to man ( and under extreme pressure ). After that, every hydrogen cell has to be extensively tested to ensure that there is no leaks. Then, They have to make it able to withstand an explosion and high speed impact. Then they have to tune the engine management system to be able to compensate for the hydrogen introduced into the combustion process instead of gasoline. Then, they have to build hydrogen fuel stations in every inhabited area in the united states that has a need for it. THEN, they have to convince everyone in the country, that they should switch to hydrogen. THEN the automakers would have to train all those millions of employees on how to fill a hydrogen fuel cell. AND THEN, there would have to be a 7000 Percent increase in the amount of hydrogen wells that would have to come into existance. Then the automakers would have to make every vehicles tooling for manufacturing able to incorperate a fuel cell in the vehicle. THEN they would have to design a hydrogen delivery system that is specific to that exact model with that exact engine and transmission combination for every vehicle line made for every manufacturer.
When viewed from the other side it is easier to understand why it has not and will not be implemented nationwide any time in the forseeable future.
*Advice* Dont be too quick to judge the decisions and actions of others if you cannot take the actions which you would like to see and make them happen by yourself

Hydrogen has to be stored under alot of pressure. You might want to read this to get a better understanding of Hydrogen.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_storage
Using hydrogen in a car is only a small fraction of the battle. Gas is used for a reason. It’s a stable and easily transportable energy carrier. Hydrogen is not practical yet, the expense and manufacturing of the devices needed to create and to store the hydrogen would pollute more than the hydrogen would save.
