PostHeaderIcon German M.A.N. Bus for biodiesel


Here is the bus up and running, not yet on biodiesel but just to test the starting and air systems.

This bus will house a 10kW generator set, 80 gallon biodiesel reactor and a series of tanks for veggie oil storage and processed fuel.

It took a 12V boost to the batteries, and 100 psi of compressed air to finally start the engine, but as you can hear every thing runs solidly.

PostHeaderIcon 2-71 Detroit Diesel generator, running


My 3rd world shop power solution. Runs on just about any kind of oil you can scrounge, has enough power to operate welders, air compressors, and other shop tools, and runs 2 to 3 hours per gallon of fuel when running at light loads, as it is here.
I have a more efficient, Lister type genset as well, but it doesn’t have enough power to run much shop equipment.

PostHeaderIcon Ample Power DC Battery Charger Genset


This is Ample Power’s DC Battery Genset during start up and operation. It is a Kubota 300 cc model EA300 horizontal, water cooled 4-cycle diesel engine that is running on biodiesel to charge a 24 volt DC battery bank.
